Did you happen to switch from quiet to loud at a higher than idle engine speed? If so, you may have bent one/both of the butterfly valves.
Is that true? I've never heard that before. I couldn't find anything in my documenation, but I don't have access to my Corsa manual at this time, just my FW owner's manual. I did some quick searches on the internet and couldn't find anything that would indicate switching at high rpm's is a no-no. I sure would appreciate it if anyone could clarify this for me.
On a related note, while searching the internet on my question above, I ran across a topic indicating you shouldn't run exhaust on higher HP big blocks through the outdrive at rpm's above 3k. They said the backpressure wouldn't allow the engine to breath properly, potentially causing damage to the engine, exhaust manifolds and/or outdrive. I find this one hard to believe considering they make 8.1L big blocks without the captain's call exhaust option. I think this information mainly applied to high performance boats with >500hp engines, but thought I would ask to be sure.
This is my first boat with captain's call exhaust, so any information that would help me prevent from damaging my boat would be greatly appreciated.
