Post subject: | Purchase of 318 |
Hello, I'm needing some advice on a 2007 318 I'm looking to buy from a marina. It is an inventory boat with only 60hrs and I have never been through the purchase of a boat before. What is the process like? What should I ask for; I was going to ask for slip for season plus winterizing in fall. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks Shaun |

A survey is a must and an agreement of what will be addressed as a result in it. I thinks its fair to ask for the moon and the stars and see what you get. 1. Fresh oil changes in engines, drives, generator. 2. Fresh fuel filters 3. Fresh impellers in engines and generator. 4. Fresh bottom paint 5. Free slip for the rest of the year 6. Winterize at end of season. |

Get a survey copleted and they need to fix everything that the survey points out is wrong with the boat!!! |

Like others said...get the survey done. But be sure that you pick the person that surveys the boat vs. the dealer/marina providing somebody to do the survey. |

I would also see if there is any remaining transferable warranty on the boat. I seem to remember FW offering some extended warranties around that time, depending on the engines & drives. Also agree about the survey and the other stuff listed. Like it was stated, shoot high and see what you get. |

Thanks for the advice, just a matter of time till she hits water. Hopefully the amount of bad days weather wise will lead to many good days for the rest of summer, i'll post pics soon. |

![]() Got it, and I was wrong only 48hrs on her. Survey found no issues besides some sealing needed around peddles for windlass, and around spotlight. Besides some small things and the install of my TV on arch, and bbq on the back and bottom paint, I'll be enjoying the 318 soooooooon. |

Congrats on the boat!!!!!!!!!! Since you never bought a boat before, I would take it that you are new to boating? If not, great!! If yes, I would have a experanced boater take you out the first few times. There are "tricks" if you will in running a 2 engine boat. I would hate to see you bang the boat up in docking. |
