I have someone coming over today very interested in our 261 Liberator. They really do not want the trailer. Are they hard to sell on their own?
I don't even know where to begin on what it's worth. They used to have good listings on NADA guides, but now it's just a genaric deal.

1990 triple axle Rolco with all new tires, not bad shape, steel not Alum. Chrome mod rims. Needs paint, but not too bad.
Elect. brakes on two axles.

Anybody have a clue on the low ball end?

Tell them the benefits of having a trailer for the boat. If the boat is able to be put on a trailer why not have one available! Why pay someone to sling and block it?

I know that, but I really think they just want the marina to take care of it for them. I just don't want to lose money on it or be stuck with a trailer and no boat.

It would make it easier to paint it I guess, but I don't know if there is a big enough upside to bother.

Search your area on Craigslist for Boat Trailer...there are some out there for sale. Maybe this will give you some guidance.

I wouldn't have any concern selling your boat without the trailer included and then selling the trailer on its own. Two boats ago I had a 25 foot Doral Citation with trailer. Like you, the purchasers didn't want the trailer as they didn't have anything to pull it with and I found the trailer easy to sell. Mine was a double axle trailer rated for 10,000 lbs and about the same year as yours. I sold for $2200.00.

There are folks who don't have a trailer for their boat and like someone else above mentioned with the trailer it gives you options of transporting your boat to storage and ease of launching and removing from water for maintenance etc. I think there is a decent market for used boat trailers especially if your trailer is good for boats even a couple feet longer than you Liberator.

If it would fit our boat, I would buy it. Should not be too tough to sell it by itself.

Thanks for the replies!

Well, they just left. They love the boat. They have looked at many, but were not very nice ones and for a lot of many.
They thought  they could just get a slip at Eldorado Lake. Now they need a trailer.
Now they do not have a truck to pull it.

I did not want to, but I offered my Chevy Crew Cab Dually for 4500. Now they need to think about it.

I really, really do not want to sell the truck as they are very hard to find with a manual 5 speed. I had to go to Dallas to buy this one, and I shopped for almost 6 months.

Well, if I do end up with the trailer, I will let you guys know.
And, as far as this market goes and the trailers that are always for sale, it's a joke. 500 and more on a crappy one built for a dingy.

A 261 on Eldorado? Isn't that like putting the Titanic in a bathtub? Eldorado has slips?

Hey I test on lake Afton..

I can get a whole 30 to 45 seconds on plane....... :D :D

They have a """"marina""" on Eldorado...

Actually for a mud pit in the middle of brush fire, the camping part there is pretty good.
The 261 would be one of the small boats on that lake. There are big tunnel cats parked there................ :?: :?: :?:

I never could figure that one out, I don't know how they dodge all the trees sticking out of the water.

I'd let the trailer be thier problem........Package-Deal or no-sale.

If it were me, I'd view the boat a much harder sell than the trailer. Get a decent price for the boat and I'd be happy to sell the trailer on its own.
