Has anyone had the speaker switch on the transom go bad? I can't find a fuse anywhere and from what I can tell, all the wires are connected. It's not working at all and my transom speakers will not come on.

I also have 1 LED courtesy light that is real dim, do those go bad?

Most speakers are not fused. I would use a "test" speaker, a speaker that is known to be good. Try connecting it before the switch, if still nothing, than you are going to check the wires at the head. And any known connector betwwen the switch and the head.

As to the LED, check the volage. I bet it is under 10V.

Maybe a ground issue.

I discovered the amp powering the speakers on the swim platform were blown and blew again as soon as I put new fuses in. Having no clue about audio, I'll wait and drag it in to get it looked at.

I am thinking that the fuses are to power the amp, maybe the speakers too. I would look for shorts in the wiring for the speakers. Check both the connectors at each end of the speaker run. If it look good, than disconnect the wires at both ends, and use a meter to see if there is a short or not.

You could also do: Turn the volume down to disconnect the speaker wires at the amp and turn it on. Only turn it on for seconds, did the fuses blow. If not, I would think you have a wiring problem. If it blows, it sounds like the amp.
