I just can't bring myself to take a pic of the boat in the driveway with a rain soaked cover on it. Crossing my fingers for better weather.

After owning my boat for nine months the only water it has seen is rain. Hopefully will get a break in the weather long enough to take a pic and post it. :( Good luck to all who venture out.

We went 8/11 on this Saturday morning. Fish scattered so we worked hard for them. This boat is a tank. 1973 Bertram 28 footer.

Weather over here at St Lawrence River is kind a strange..... 80+ degree temp but overcast... water is fridge cold.... We cleaned up boat house, put canopy on the lift, power washed dock etc. Put Jet ski on the water as well as changed oil on our 260... Even took her out for a cruse but interrupted by rain.... Now it is getting foggy… I hope we get a good summer... We are ready.

Monday was much better day for Boating.... Never fail the day we have to leave and go home.

Dinner with a view and just a few reminders of what this Holiday is about.

Some of you folks are truly blessed with the places you have, or have access to.

I was going to post some pics of Memorial Day but didn't think you'd appreciate some sweaty fat guy putting new batteries in his boat.

Why not? It will make a change from the normal wake shot. What I can't get my head round is, "who wants to take a photo of a sweaty fat guy putting batteries in his boat in the first place"?

Saturday was a little gloomy, but warm. The water was like glass so it wasn't a bad tradeoff.

Image

Sunday turned out really nice with the sun popping out late morning. I was so excited to see the sun I forgot to take pictures. Here's one from earlier in the morning before it cleared out.

Image

We had to come home Sunday night to get a few things done around the house, but we've both got tomorrow (Tuesday) off so we're going back up. Hopefully with the grandson in tow. :D It suppose to be clear with highs in the 70's.

In the 90s and sunny here Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Spent Saturday in a couple local coves swimming and just hanging out to conserve fuel, Sunday took an 80 mile round trip cruise to Fort Loudon (English fort built in 1760) and watched some reenactments from the water, not many pics but one of my 11 year old cooking up some brats there:

Image

Today we went out at 7pm to another local cove and swam around and watched the sun set, then took a nice nighttime cruise past our neighborhood and got home a few minutes ago. It was a great weekend for boating here.

This is what the marina looked like. Water did drop below the sea wall until we have almost 2" of rain on Sunday. Went back over the wall Monday. Also, lots of debris in the water. Have one big boat go out and they found a submerged buoy. Bent props-ouch!.

At least the rain cleared Sunday Night and we had a beautiful sunset.

Time to start planning for the 4th.
