I have a 1999 Horizon 180 w/ 130 OB that has a Guest ChargePro 2611 battery charger installed. It appears that this charger is hooked up to the two 12V batteries for the trolling motor (in series for 24V). It has a thru-hull plug adapter on the transom in order to plug the charger in and all appears to be working fine.
The 12V battery for the engine (3rd battery) does not appear to be hooked up into the system. I haven't actually traced the wires, but the charger is only set up with two connections (according to the manual). I would like to get the engine battery hooked up to a charger also.
So my question is, do I get a separate charger for the engine battery and install an addition thru-hull plug-in adapter, or do I get a 3-way battery charger?
Like this one I guess the biggest issue is whether a 3-way charger can charge a single 12V battery along with 2- 12V batteries in series (24V) at the same time. I don't know if they can (electricity is not usually my friend).
Anybody have any ideas?
