Hello Everyone ----- Not only am I new to this site, I have purchased my first Four Winns......What I have is the 2005 268 Vista.....fully loaded......with 166 hours.

I trust one of you can lead me in the right direction.......

When I orginally sea trialed the boat we ran the generator, air, micro, etc......all was fine......This past weekend I had the generator on and went to use the AC and got a fault code.....I also noticed there was no water coming out from the AC outlet.....do you think I lost the prime on the AC? If so how do I prime it back up?

Also.......My fresh water pump is out.....I can tap it and it will come back on, then goes off again.....good connections on wires......what do you think,,,,,need new pump? if so what model......and where do I order it from......My boat is 5 hours away at my lake condo, so I would like to get the pump if this is what I need before heading back

I am full of questions (and other things) help me if you will

Thanks
LakeRat

First of all what was the fault code you got? I'm assuming you're referring to the generator on that question.

Your AC has probably lost it's prime. The first thing to verify is that you have the seacock open that allows the water into the system. Next in that line will be the strainer. You need to make sure that is clear and allows water through. If you ran that during the sea trial it probably is. You can prime the AC system at that point by turning on the AC and loosening the strainer bowl which will allow air and water to escape which will prime the system. Another method of priming is to put a water hose up to the outlet on the hull and forcing a small amount of water back through the system until the air is out.

I'm not sure on your fresh water pump but I know someone can chime in here with the exact model. Before you replace it though did you remove the fittings on both the inlet and outlet side of the pump? Make sure those lines are clear and the pump works properly with those off.

Welcome aboard!

Here is the pump for your boat. But I second the thought of checking the inlet and outlet for any crud first, but from what you describe it could be the brushes in the pump.

Link for 4405-143 Pump $122.00

Might be a bit cheaper on-line than from a dealer. Just sayin'........

I think he might be referring to a high pressure code on the a/c control head. This code sets when the the a/c water pump loses it's prime or has a pump failure. If this is the case I think following your recommendations should remedy his problems :D

First thank you very much for the information on both the water pump and the AC.....

The AC had been working fine, I ran the boat on plane then noticed it was not puching out cold air.....I looked at the display on the temp control pannel and saw the fault code ...... I am sure it shut down do to high pressure, as not water was coming out.....I will try the primce through the exhaust side on the AC.

The pump, will start up then shut down, if I bang the side it will start up again....but does not stay running.....

I will order the pump on-line, hopefully I can have by Friday AM.....then install......I will let you know the outcome...

Again thanks for the advise and input
