My buddy is a sales guy for Land 'n' Sea (Brunswick). He was calling this week on a local dealer and they told him a story about a new boater that had been in their shop recently.

This new boater had a Sea Ray Sundancer. He was having them change the impeller and some other routine work. He and a woman come to pick up the boat in a big Ford pickup with dual gas tanks. He leaves with the boat and goes to fill up both of the gas tanks on the truck and then proceeds to fill both of the tanks on the boat (hint--the boat only has ONE gas tank, but he filled two).

He and the woman go out on the boat. He smells gas fumes but doesn't think anything of it. He and the woman spend the night on the boat. He gets up in the morning and goes into the head. In order to cover up his own fumes that he was making in the head, he lights a cigarette.

BOOM! You got it. He filled the water holding tank with gasoline. Burned himself good on this lower half and caused quite an explosion. To top it all off---the woman he was with was NOT his wife. Someone has some interesting explaining to do.

 not good. He's lucky he only burned his hide, won't be much left of it anyway after his wife gets through with him!

Not too many years ago on my lake, a couple of dock boys filled up a boat via the waste fitting. (Why aren't these things protected somehow?)

Well, flooded a bunch of gas into the boat. After the marina talked to the owner of the boat, the kids went off to lean up the spilled gas. They thought a wet/dry vac was the easiest. yeah.....bad idea. bad boom. bad hair day for the kids.
