Aquapalooza time is coming up again. Has anyone ever been to one of the events before....either your local version or the signature event? I'm thinking of going to the one on the Chester River this year. It's about 2 hrs round trip across the Cheseapeake for me, but figured I'd give it a try. Sounds like a fun time and they'll have activities for the kids. Anyone else heading out to one of their events this month? I'd love to go to the signature event but don't know if they'll ever have it in this area.

I am going to it, at Hart Miller Island, outside of Middle River, Maryland, on July 16th 11AM-4PM
let me know if you are close to that one, it will be a blast!

I have been both to a local event, and the Signature event last year on Lake Travis. The signature event was AWESOME.....TONS AND TONS of boats and VERY well organized. The local event.....its just a big tie up. On our lake, its probably a smaller scale than what you have in your area, so its not something I would go out of my way to attend again. If I were in an area like you are....I would probably check it out.

I think Hart Miller might be a little far north for me....Conquest Beach is still a decent run from the South River but it's pretty much all on the protected side of Kent Island once I get across the bay. I heard Hart Miller is a good sized event though....per their website they're expecting around 250 boats. Don't know if that number is based off of past history or what they hope to get but even if only half that amount show it will still be a good sized crowd.

Just curious....what qualifies as a big raft-up where you are? it may not be all that much different here.

If I recall.....when I went, there were about 60-70 boats at our local event.....my group brought 10 of them.

We went to the Hart-Miller event last year, raining like hell from Kent Island, and it was still larger than the Chester event. You may want to doule check your distance becasue Conquest is past the island up the Chester river a little ways. I can tell you that on the same day Bumper-Bash is at Dobbins Island. It may not be very kid friendly though....here is the link if you want to check it out. http://thenewbumperbash.net/

Bumperbash is definitely not kid friendly. Never been but I've heard the stories and seen some of the pictures. If I was 25 again....maybe but probably not anymore. Just heard too much about the stupid drunks, the fights, boats breaking loose (the occassional large raft breaking loose) and running into other boats, and so on. The girls gone wild part I could probably handle :) but the rest is not my scene anymore.
