Didn't want to do it but we sold our 248 yesterday after owning it for 3 years. I loved it but the family didn't so much as I. Were getting a pontoon boat as its replacement for the lake which I suppose is more practical. I will miss it though as it was my lifelong dream to own a boat that you could sleep on. Heart wrentching to see it pull out of the driveway. ![]() Anyway I don't usually chime in that often, but I really enjoy this website and the "regulars" for info and advice. Thanks to you all. I still have my Horizon, it still runs and looks great and plan on keeping it for years to come. Thanks again for all of you help w my Vista. Nick |

We feel for ya, Nick. Here's a modest pontoon to help ease the pain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCEF6zOFj2o |

Even if it sucks, it's best to do what serves your family well. |

I feel your pain. Our boat is for sale for the same reason. Wife is just not into it as much as me and it is a lot of work with two small kids. |

That pontoon boat was more my speed however mine will be about 550 hp less. I could see that guys credit card melting as he advanced the throttle. Pretty cool! |

LOL! I see my wallet get a little thinner every time I put my SS on WOT but it's such a rush it's hard not to do a couple of times during a trip. I am glad to see that the saying about the two happiest days in boating being where you buy and sell your boat are not correct in your situation. I hope you find the pontoon boat that will make your family happy albeit with much more reasonable power. Have fun and get out on the water. |

I would/will rather have a larger cruiser and keep it in the ocean "someday". My wife is enamored w a pontoon boat in that she can take it out by herself unlike the 248. She can "slowly" cruise the lake w her friends, and the boys seem to be taking an interest in it as well. It's much more practical in our lake than the 248 ever was, but I never really was concerned about that. I'm keeping the horizon cuz I like going fast, tubeing w my boys and having fun plus its paid for and still looks and runs great for 14 years old. I also really like the how easy the outboard engines are to take care of vs I/Os. Its a relatively rare bird. |

Just goes to show you, a man needs more than one boat. I find myself in want of a PWC. Preferably a TS1000 Tigershark. Go figger. Greg |
