got one other, hopefully easy question on a 358 2008

Just had an ignition switch freeze up. don't think replacing the switch should be too hard, but not sure how to remove the dash cover inorder to get to the back of it
i see screws securing the top area around the gauges and the GPS. but the area around the ignition switchs is cover in a wood laminate. So not sure if the laminate pops off or do you access from above thru the insturment panel

I've covered a LOT of issues for the 348 and they're applicable to the 358 as well. Search is your friend here.

The short answer is you take out the chart plotter. The hole it opens will let you access the whole area behind the helm. This includes a loooooooong reach down to the ignition switches. Pop off the faceplate around the plotter (I like to use an upholsterer's tack remover) and then the four screws at the corners. Each wire uses a different connector so you don't have to be too worried about reconnecting it.
