My 2005 180 H LE engine will suddenly (VP 4.3 GL-D) die and will not crank. So far after a few minutes is will crank and start right up. When it happens electrical power to the gauges, radio, lights, etc is fine. I'm thinking it could be one (or more) of three possibilities: 1. faulty neutral safety - my question is can the neutral safety do this or does it just prevent the starter from cranking? 2. faulty kill switch - there is a kill switch with a lanyard like those on PWC but would it also prevent cranking? 3. faulty oil pressure switch - don't even know if there is one. Two thinigs here: 1. My biggest problem is that I can't find a detailed wiring schematic which would let me sort our 1 - 3 is a rational manner. Not the user manuel, not the VP shop manuel or the Solec. Does anyone know if one exists and how I might get a copy? 2. Does anyone have any suggestions or other possible reasons for the problem. Thanks in advance for any help |

Here is the link to Four Winns past product info, including owners manuals. In case your particular model doesn't include a wiring schematic you could look through other model years or similar models (ie Horizon is similar to the LE) http://www.fourwinns.com/service/past_product For my older V-P, the safety lanyard will stop the engine from cranking as well as starting. I'm not sure how the newer models respond to low oil pressure readings. Mine goes into a limp mode but doesn't completely shut down. |
