I cant remember a labor day as cold as this (global warming dontcha know) and the lake is real bumpy. Needless to say, I wont be doing anything but looking for my warm shorts and opening the bar early.

How's everyone enjoying the holiday?

John

Sunny and 96 on Saturday but today's forcast is 100% rain with a high of 73 complements of Lee. We do need the rain though because the lake is 7' below full pool. So much for barbequing the two slabs of ribs I have in the cooler.

We went from upper 90's to temps in the 80's...PERFECT temps, but unfortunately, 25-35 mph winds came with it. It was still a great weekend. My son and I stayed on the boat Saturday and Sunday night. Relaxed, enjoyed some beer, grilled some burgers etc. TxVista and I figured out a water issue on his boat, and I tinkered a bit with mine.

Great weekend!

Cold weekend in Michigan except for Saturday. However the weather radar kept showing huge storms coming across Lake Michigan so we didn't go out on the boat. Turns out they all faded away or broke apart and went around us, so a great boating day was missed. Oh well, washed the boat and did a few fix it items. Still better than working.

Planned on heading to the lake Sunday - but the incredible wind shot those plans to hell and back....with the high winds and low lake levels i figured i would be seeing white caps and lake bottom.

I laughed - my bro went to the bayhouse.....i asked what he was doing and he said he was sitting in his lawn chair with a helmet, paddle and beer and pretending like he was kayacking....water was blowing over the bulkhead.

And oddly enough, the weather here the past two days is VERY San Diego-like. 70* highs, little wind, bright sun. Gorgeous - and supposed to stay this way all week. Which is even MORE weird.

Great time at Norris lake Saturday and some of Sunday, then rain. Lots of crazy boaters pulling tubers in heavy traffic, but otherwise very nice. Biggest problem was the lack of a decent launch ramp at the Twin Cove marina where we stayed. I know the water is down, yada yada. It is a holiday weekend - they should have cleared off the mud and rock from the crappy side ramp that was 'open'. Or let me know before i come down there Very dangerous. I stupidly slid down the ramp to get the boat in. I had to drive around to the dam marina to take it out on Sunday night. The girl at the rental office said yeah the crew was going to work on that last night but didn't get to it. Poor job. I guess I was the bigger fool for taking a risk in putting in anyway.

I know we missed out, I had to work Saturday and the wife was on call it was low 90's and sunny. Off Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday and it has been raining and cool the whole time. Also, looking at the weather here in PA it is supposed to rain for the next 10 days. So it looks like our season is over, maybe I'll have it out one or two more times but that's probably it for this year.
