My wife puts up this nautical tree. It features ornaments from all the ports we have visited and then some. Perhaps not surprisingly, it is in our nautical room. Merry Christmas early, Dan & Mary Deitz

THAT IS AWESOME!! I'm so happy to see someone else has a "nautical room", but the nautical Christmas tree takes it to a whole new level! Very nice! :D

Didn't say I was the first to have a nautical tree, just the best. You have pics of the tree? Tis the season! Dan

The tree is very nice. But now for true confessions, how many of us buy a present for the boat at Christmas? I will be the first to say that the boat often has a wrapped box under the tree. It is often a gadget that the helm just has to have.

We buy something for the boat every year. This year it is a new gas grill and pedestal. Dan

Magma kettle grill with flush mount was my best investment of 2011.

For Christmas my boat is getting (already got some this week) full LED lighting. New attwood white housing navigation light and anchor light/base. Ordered 10 "194" SMD LED's for the gauges. The black VDO Vision gauges will be swapped out with new Faria Kronos units. Out with the old black "dated" gauges and in with the stainless steel! I'm also looking for a decent steering wheel of modern styling. I'd love to get my hands on a 2008+ H180 wheel. Sometime after the new year the windshield will also get tinted.

Goal? Make my 2000 year boat look like a 2012. To me the dead giveaway is the gauges/wheel and I'm really lucky I don't have the "deluxe" package so a gauge swap is just a matter of ordering a new set and plugging them in.

Ric, I noted that you are wanting to trade your br for a cuddy. My first boat was a closed bow sea ray which added security in rough, but was a pain in $ss when it came to convenience. You step into the bow more times than you realize and lose more storage than you realize. Small lake seems better suited for the br to me.

I think the tree is great!! We too are just starting to put thing on the tree from where we have been. Which have not been that many for us. As to Ric's BR for a cuddie, well it depends what you want out of life. For my wife & I we have been boating now for 12 years. With every year and now 5 boats later, we keep finding & doing more and bigger things. Now we look at each other & say "we have HOT water" for those long weekend, overnight trips and nights at the silp.

Ric, good luck on what ever you do.

What I do with boating is just "relaxing" and chillin out. I don't tow things or leave my 600 acre lake. I usually head in at dusk because of bugs or cold, but with a cabin I could move inside. I would really need to see a 195/205 Sundowner in person first to make sure. It would also have to be non sunsport, so I wouldn't loose any room or seating which I currently have with my H180. My goal is to basically have exactly what I have now behind the windshield which I think is perfect, but in front of the windshield a cabin instead of open seats which I don't use except to get in and out of the boat off the dock.

Well, just ordered the Attwood LED 2 mile all around LED 42" locking light, and the black/stainless locking base. It will go along perfect with the Attwood LED red/green nav light I installed which works beautifully. Also ordered 10 SMD red 194 bulbs for the VDO vision gauges. I'm keeping them for now. Radio is more important.

Found a really nice wheel too...
