Is the Chicago Boat show worth the 1hour and half car ride ? I've been to the Chicago auto show and that is a good show, better during the weekdays, too damn crowded on the weekends.

As much as you can Regal 35 Sport Coupe

I think if you take her on all those boats, you may have to talk her out of upgrading to a bigger boat once she see's some of them.

We are heading to the show tonight - always go opening night to avoid the crowds.

Last few years has been somewhat disappointing as the show continues to get smaller

Less vendors each year

Going to the Toronto Boat Show Friday. Charity night is always good. No big crowds.

We went down last night. Due to the snow there was very low attendance which was great for us. Show was much better than it had been the last 2 years. Got to look at the new 210 & 230 Four Winns. Very nice.

The June show will be better than the January show. In water shows are great.

Quote:
The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) announced today the launch of the Progressive Insurance Chicago In-Water Boat Show – the Midwest’s largest boating and sales event – taking place June 7-12, 2012 at the new 31st Street Harbor, Chicago’s newest state-of-the-art marina opening in May. The 2012 Progressive Insurance Chicago In-Water Boat Show will feature dozens of dealers and manufacturers showcasing approximately 150 power and sailboats for sale, more than 100 accessory, technology and travel booths, and entertaining and educational in-water and on-land attractions, including complimentary boating courses at a Discover Boating Demo Dock.

Sounds like a great reason for a boat trip !! Cap'n Morgan any suggestions on making the trip across the big lake ? Have not done it, probably will just stay close to shore and not loose site of land.

A group of us are going to the Chicago show on Saturday. I am not in the market for a boat as I just bought my current one in October.
We go every year just to get out of the house in the middle of winter and have a few beers.

We are going today to meet up with a group of friends. Its the mid winter break that gets us in the boating mind set. The show is supposed to be larger than last year, we will see. They extended the show a day to cover the holiday on monday so I'm hoping it won't be quite as crowded.
