Hi Everyone,

Before you flame me, I think this is the correct forum, because I have read almost every post on here. Read my whole post before deciding that I am an annoying scammer, trust me, I am not. I am a boater that paid like $140 for my extremely simple boat name graphic but didn't have a choice at the time.

Been around for years, but mostly as a reader, I guess I am a shy poster (but I do have some good ones out there). I have used a number of your discussions and learned a ton from you guys. I own a 1982 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. I posted a similar notice on my Landcruiser group and have been able to help a ton of people with logos, garage signs, etc, etc. My girlfriend asked me if I was doing any boat decals, which I thought was a good idea. I am doing all the layout work for free, which as you know can cost a small fortune.

I NOW have a professional sign shop at my disposal. I can make graphics/decals of any kind, and I will charge you less than half of what things would cost anywhere else, but only for forum members. I am not a professional decal maker, but I did work at one for two years and I can make just about any vehicle/boat graphic you want. I just made a nice batch of Toyota logos and they look great. I have a real day job, so I am just doing this for fun. I will spend an hour or two per night processing your orders until I lose my sanity, my boat goes back in the water or my girlfriend dumps me (then I will have to go search for another one).

I repeat, I am not trying to make money here, just looking for a way to give back to my groups since you have given a great deal to me.

Just shoot me an email with what you want, what color and how big and I will hopefully make it within a day or two, collect payment via PayPal and that's that. If you don't like what you get, I will make it again or just refund your money, no argument. I just rebuilt a vintage outboard motor and recreated all the cover graphics, looks pretty cool.

Available Colors

-Dark Green
-Silver
-Bright Yellow (lotus logo)
-White
-Red
-Baby Blue
-Dark Blue
-Bright Green (lotus logo)
-Mustard
-Bright Orange
-Black
-Flat Black
-I can get any color you want but if it is a weird color, I might have to charge you extra because sometimes they make me buy 30 feet at a time for strange stuff, like holographic vinyl, etc.

A cheap sign shop would charge you at least $30-$100 for the layout and $10 a decal for a 5" custom job (premium gloss vinyl). Like I said, I won't charge you for the layout instead just a flat rate. I hope this is reasonable but let me know.

3" tall = $3.00
4" tall = $4.00
5" tall = $5.00
(you get the idea)
all the way up to 24" tall = $24

Technically I can do something large enough for a 747 jumbo jet, I just need to buy some bigger vinyl and figure out the cost.

You are already getting a big discount, at least 65% less than what the sign shops in my area are charging. If you think I am nuts, remember not to compare this with a stock decal, this is custom stuff, any size, any color and anything you want. If you want a hot pink Four Winns Logo 2 foot x 2 foot with a flamingo sticking out of the side, you got it.

Here are some additional quantity discounts to reflect the savings I would get on raw materials and bulk production.

6-10 discount 10%
11-20 discount 20%
21-50 discount 30%
50+ discount 40%

Shipping should be relatively cheap for smaller things, usually $1 or $2 via regular mail, I will just use a padded envelope. If you get something huge, then I would roll it up and put it in a tube and that is like $8.

If you are ready to move ahead, PM or Email me the following list:

1.) Job: A description of exactly what you want, Color, Size, Quantity. Please double check your spelling for custom named logos, etc.

2.) Shipping: Your name and full shipping address.

3.) Cash: Goto PayPal --> Send Money --> Personal --> Payment Owed --> my email address is in my profile

4.) Your "iFourWinns" username, so I can figure out who you are if you PM me or whatever.

Thanks,

Jay

Sorry to highjack right off the bat. I have a vinyl machine of my own so I do all of my own stuff. What I am after is the name of your FJ40 group. I am a jeeper that just purchased an old FJ 40 and cant find a home on the internet to discuss the thing.

No problem man. Forum etiquette dictates that a question like this should be sent in a private message, not in the forum. Hard core forums will blast you for hijacking, I could care less. Outside the boating world, people are too serious sometimes. :)

This is the best landcruiser forum, by far. Every LC fan on the planet lives there.

dspan - where are you located? If I send you a picture of something, do you have the software to convert it into the format to make vinyl?

I am in Boston and yes, absolutely, I have lots of software and consider myself an expert with your type of request. I am not an artist so designing from scratch is not my best skill but digitizing is fun. Do your best to stump me. :)

Vinyl is very inexpensive to ship as well.

Your boat is gorgeous!

Since I'm dense, please help me out here. If I understand you correctly - if I wanted a 5" tall decal it would be $5? No length consideration?

I actually need to re-decal the boat (license numbers, name and port).

Thanks,

Steve.

I would use the longest measurement if it is custom work and always willing to work on the pricing. I have a great job and make plenty of money. This is just a hobby.

Honestly, what I would like to see is perhaps some official ifourwinns.com stickers.....with the Forum owners permission of course.

That is a great idea. It would be great advertising for the site and when you saw another FourWinns person with the sticker you would exchange callsigns/handles and have some fin.

I second that hopefully we can get that done

Dspan, if my buddy who does vinyl don't come through with a free bee like he promised, I'll be in touch with you. Your pricing seems more than fair to me. Do you know if it's expensive to ship to Canada though?

Ship it with USPS and it will be no more than a couple of bucks depending on size.

I don't think the shipping to Canada is too bad. I forget what it costs, but I remember seeing a sign at the post office for the flat rate packages and thinking to myself, "Hmm, that's not too bad to ship to Canada"...

If you can send me your zip code or what the Canadian equivalent is, I will look it up.

DSpan, were in Boston are you? I boat out of the Winthrop Yacht Club!! I do understand that you do this for fun, but if you send me a few examples, price list and your cards, I can give them out. The club has over 300 boaters, never mind the other 20 clubs that we associate with!!
