So for about 2 years now, I've wanted a Magma grill. I've been using this little, four legged Kingsford version that immediately pegs me as a hillbilly boater and I've been jonesin to move up the evolutionary boating ladder for quite some time. So, last month, I hit up Ebay as usual trying to find one that was properly priced and in decent shape. I found a "buy it now" for $75 but there was a "make offer" option so I offered up $65. Just so you know, an "offer" is a binding contract to buy if accepted. Anyway, two weeks later the grill showed up. I was initially ticked off as the previous owner mentioned nothing about the finger guard (under the knob) being broken but I found a replacement on Amazon for $4 plus free shipping so I calmed down about that. After running it through the dishwasher and tossing the storage bag in the washing machine, it all came out rather nicely. I did have to purchase the rail connector (packaged in the photo) but all the rest was there and for a reasonable price. I'm wondering what other great finds have been made on Ebay or on any website for that matter. What did you pick up that you're excited about?

I picked up my Magma off Craigslist for $75 complete with rail mount locally in brand new condition. Since my boat doesn't have a rail, I did have to spend the $$ for the flush mount. I use it every weekend, best purchase ever. I spose I could sell the rail mount that's collecting dust in my shed.

I don't do much in the ebay anymore unless it's apparel or chinese products like LED lighting. I got my Sperry thongs for $50 shipped 2 weeks ago off eBay. They were horrible at first but once broken in they are the most comfortable things I own (and don't mark up the boat deck). 99% of what I purchase now is through Amazon. A co-worker has a Prime account so next day shipping is usually $3, or free for standard. I quit retail store shopping about 2 years ago unless it's out of urgent need or to check out the latest styles so I know what to order online. Much, much cheaper. I just hate the shipping delay!

Nothing on eBay ever. I have bought a riding mower, sold a boat, riding mower, Jeep CJ7, antique stove and bought a Jeep via Craigslist though. Oh, also bought the fishing boat on Craigslist. Boatrader was my first buy via I net. All good experiences. Almost forgot that I bought all reclaied tin and lumber for my man Ave via list too.

Sold a bunch on eBay, more and more on CL too. The only bad experience so far was with a seller. I bought some A/V equipment from him and he never delivered. Turned out to be one of the leaders of that quasi-"Mormon" cult out on the AZ/UT border.

I hear he's selling people curly hair wigs now.

A guy I know bought a penis enlarging device on E-bay. The directions said "do not use in direct sunlight".

It was a magnifying glass

Sorry,,,I couldn't resist

Back to boating; a pair of VP anodes for £8.00 ( about 13 USD) when the list price here was well over £20 EACH ! Also a new VP trim sender for £12.00 ( list then £90+). A leather marine "Victor" steering wheel for I think about £20 when the list price was £160+. Didn't really need that one, but it's nice !

Part of it has to do with what ebay has done with their fees. I stopped selling there long ago because you just can't make money anymore.

When you sell stuff on ebay now you don't get near the activity you used to get either - besides the high fees
