Cap'n, wanna guess what the boat make and model is via the dash picture below? We did attend the Detroit Boat Show on Sunday and I did find this boat whose dash picture is below to be very well laid out and very likely quite competitive in this boat's size category.

The other picture is of my nine year old son who is enjoying the "Human Hamster Ball" experience at the show.

After Cap'n guesses, I'll post this boat's sale price spec sheet and a couple other pictures.

Whatever it is, that upper windshield corner joint is messed UP.

That's a monterey with their new star trek helm design

That's a Monterey 400SY. That helm is not new, they have used that design for the past several years , but changed a few accessories like the wheel, gel color electronics, etc.

What did you think of the boat ?

Well, she is a Monterey that is correct but the 400SY size would not be correct.

It is a 2012 model and this model does have a hard top. Any second guesses? Hint, she has twin Mag 350's with Bravo 3's.

I did like this boat, and I did compare it to the other manufacture's boats of similar size. In terms of its layout, the fit and finish of its materials and overall appearance this boat just seemed to do it better. It had blue hull sides, and I'd prefer white, but that is purely a personal preference.

I will post some futher pics this evening and the sales information that was displayed on the transom.

the 340SY helm is quite similar to your original picture. Sorry, not my day for guesses. :cry:

I really do like the dash layout here. Mike - would have to agree that the windshield looks messed up. Might just be the camera angle.

Boats are a very personal choice. I posted about this particular boat because it stood out to me based on my viewing other similar sized boats at the Detroit Boat Show and also because my wife and I looked a lot of boats in the 32 - 34 size while we were looking to move up in size from our previously owned 30' Doral Prestania.

I liked the layout of this boat, the strendrives since we boat in fresh water only and this boat's overall appearance. We prefer a port side lounge, like "U" shaped typed seating in the cockpit, "L" or "U" shaped in the galley and the dark rich looking cabinetry.

Now, if we were serious about moving into this size boat now (we are not as we are quite content with our 328 Vista at present) I would look harder at this boat and would like to look at it when it was a minimum 5 years old so a good chunk of depreciation would have occured.

I like how there are SS grab rails placed where you need them, galley, cockpit, steps etc. Also, the TV is actually in a place where you can view it from the dinette. It's nice to see no vinyl or carpet on the ceiling in the cabin too. Looks like some serious headroom in the cabin as well. Upholstery/Vinyl is predominately white, as it should be rather than brown, or dark grey. Very nice options on that boat. I don't have a problem with that windshield at all. Looks much better than this......

Many builders have changed from the wrap around Taylor Made windshields to this same style on express cruisers. The windshield on this Cruisers 330 Express is similar to the Monty.

Mike, you should add the Cruisers 330 to your "maybe someday" list as well.

You're welcome for the pics Cap'n. I appreciate all the various pics you post on this forum as it helps make the forum viewing more enjoyable. The eye candy stuff is just a bonus.

If we where to replace our 328 with a similar sized boat, absolutely I'd take a boo at the 330 Cruiser, however, at this point I would like our next boat to be a sedan bridge style. This would be a boat that we would spend more time on and enjoy all the extra cabin space a sedan bridge style gives over an express.

One thing that I had not experienced before, was stepping on that teak looking (swim platform Inlay SeaDek Brown) on this 340 Monterey with just my socks on and noticing how cushioned this material was. I reached down to feel this stuff with my hands and could easily push into it and to a certain degree I could rub the material either way with my fingers. Almost like a very short nap carpet. I wondered how that would hold up to the outside boating environment long term and keep clean?

I agree about the Seadek material. I also wondered how it will hold up over 6-8 years of exposure to the elements. I did like how it looked on a few boats at the GR show. And it did feel good on the feets.

Ahhhhh, Sedan bridge boats in the 35' range. Have done quite a bit of looking/research at this style boat recently, and I have a short list of candidates that the wife and I liked best. I'll share that with you in a few.

Interest or not, I said I would post, so here goes.

1st choice for us would be a Carver 360SS. So much space for this size boat, two staterooms, and a good performing hull. We had a 2003 we were considering, and it sold about a week ago. A lot of boat for $120K.
A sedan bridge boat for us needs to have molded steps to the fly. No stinking ladder .
