They had jackets ons, in fact the whistle on her jacket is the only thing that saved her. The corps had no bouys above water and the spillway looks like open water, we went and looked yesterday. Glad they are ok.

The moral of the story is:KNOW YOUR WATERWAY!

That is a Low Head Dam and for those of you that haven't seen one up close, from the high side you can NOT see it... The rivers I boat are full of them (locks with Lowheads) and unless you know your waterways, you too, could easily end up doing something similar!

ummm, if im somewhere that no one else is I first think " why isn't anyone else out here" then I SLOWELY explore that waterway. I never even wakeboard without taking a cruise around the area I am going to ride in. That was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen tho LOL

Trust me I'm with you.. Hell before I ever put my first boat in the water I surveyed my local river system via Google Earth and located all the locks and dams and thier GPS coordinates.. But most people are not that bright...

Most people think driving a boat is like driving a car for that matter!

I noticed today that the video made National news on FOX NEWS today.

I too, hope they recover quickly from their injuries!
