I have a 1995 V258 with a single engine and dual batteries. I went to get it out of storage and put the charged up batteries in and I get zero power to anything. The switch is on tried multiple selections but I get nothing at all. I see in the wiring diagram a 60 amp fuse but I can't find where that is. I was wondering if anyone knew what could be going on here ? I checked all the fuses under the steering column and the ones located by the charger but I don't know where a 60 amp fuse could be located. Any help is appreciated.

Check and make sure you have a good ground wire, If the ground is not making good contact you will get no power!!
At the battery and where the ground is connected in the boat.

Thanks I went and did that and that is when I discovered what I and other have overlooked. Hooking up the other negative wire that fell behind would of helped. Dumb Dumb mistake. Thanks though the reply pointed me back to double check one last time

As a tech here's what I do when removing my clients batteries for the winter. I keep red and black nylon tie straps. I bundle all wires going to the positive terminals with a red tie strap and the same for the negatives with a black one. Over the years, that has saved me a lot of head scratching. Clip off the excess keeping it nice and neat and it's there every year for you

That's a great idea, it can be very easy to forget how the wires are hooked up. I don't remove my batteries, I just charge em when I winterize the boat, then maybe 1 or 2 times over the winter (stored in the driveway).

Mr. Sux is smart in doing that way.

But, to get back to the first post. We need to keep this simple and have a starting point!! Take a meter, do you have 12v at each battery? Are the post clean? If yes, is ther power at the dual battery switch at the #1 & #2 post? See were I am going with this? Something could be disconnected, house breaker triped or went bad.

Why keep it simple the problem is solved! I think that was simple enough!!!

you could also take a digital pic of each batt close up, or mark the wires by putting a piece of duct tape on the wire and write on it with a sharpie where it gets connected. I take the really simple way, charge em and leave em. Grp 27s are too heavy to be hoisting out unless you have to anyway...

My batteries were sitting for a bit and they gave me some trouble when I first purchased my boat but after following some of these tips my batteries are boat at factory specs.


And yes they are very heavy!!!
