After a cancelled last season due to drought...the lake I frequent now is closing ramps due to high water levels....incredible ...last week we were there fishing up a storm in the storms..water was too cold for sports and wind was kicking so we pulled the fishgetter instead of the Red Zone...came home with 8 gallons of filets....I kid u not when I say the live well couldn't holdem.

We like to have swamped but the hybrid bass were hitting under the birds....may splash the big boat (for us) next week...can't wait.

Glad to hear the lake is back up. The crappie are spawning on our lake and they are all around the docks. Didn't try to catch that many because I thought I would be the only one eating them but I was pleasantly suprised that our two youngest kids liked them (filleted and fried).

I had to fry them at the slip since it was starting to rain and couldn't do it on shore. I kept it legal though by doing it on the swim platform. LOL

The problem with fishing is finding someone to clean them. The admiral won't do it

Mine likes to do it. So I bought her an even better knife. Now I need to go fishing.

Yes, Lake Lewisville was somewhere about 7 feet below full less than 60 days ago. Now, we are somewhere about 3 feet over full pool. I stayed on my boat on Saturday night, hanging with TxVista and another slip neighbor, then I got the boat out yesterday with the family for a few hours. It was an awesome day. The only caveat to the high waters is that there are now some floating logs/debris out there that you have to really watch out for.

I sure hope we get some more rain because having temps in the 80's in March makes me think Texas is in for a LONG and HOT summer and we will need a water surplus to keep us from slipping back into the bad drought we had last year.

We ate one bag of fish which was around 3/4 gallon fillets while at lake for the week...pack and freeze in water and they're good for a while...we usually have a couple big fries over the summer and donate for the Catholic neighborhood Friday fish fry and mudbug boil...between the fish, deer and youth fair chicken sale the deep freeze gets a work out, I'm pulling the 210 out of moth balls Friday to clear her throat and stretch cuz come Sunday its a splash.

Blue dragon, I'm scheduled to splash this Saturday. My hauler has to go through about 100 feet of a plowed field to get to the driveway though. Here's hoping it stays dry enough that it wont be a mud fest. When are you coming out of storage?

Set up an account with http://www.photobucket.com and upload your photo. Once uploaded, click on the IMG code under the pic and then paste in the post a reply box. We need to see that catch.

OK - Maybe this will work now.....these are not the same fish.....table full of Hybrid with a couple whites mixed in and 1 Crappie....couple more hybrid in the cooler and the rest whites. Total count for that day was 49 whites, 1 Crappie and 15 Hybrid.......not a bad day on the water!!!!....OH the local bag limit is 5 per person on hybrid for a day...so we had some room to spare, just not in the livewell:)

I'd say the fish are happy that the water level is up too. What did you catch them with?
