I can't imagine how that could happen, unless it was being lifted by a crane and it fell on the house !

Trailer hitch failure while being towed down street... trailer+boat take a different path than the tow vehicle. I don't think a crane was involved.

My guess is that it was loaded very stern heavy. I'd bet that there was no weight on the tongue and well placed bump in the road caused just enough upward force at the tongue to cause it to come off. The boat/trailer then carreened with the nose up and outdrive dragging until it hit the house. Notice how the tongue of the trailer goes into the window and just the boat is up on the roof.

House was on a trailer being filmed for "Big Moves" when it broke free and rolled down the street towards the lake. It was stopped by this boat that was being readied for launch just above the ramp. The tow vehicle is out of site in the house between the master bedroom and bathroom.
