just took out my new (to me) 2006 210 horizon on it's maiden voyage. I am very impressed with the performance of this boat and over all very happy. My only issue is the anchor locker, the door only opens up to 90 degrees. Being a short person, this makes it difficult when you need to reach in to move things around to fit tie anchor in. I really do not wish to drill any additional holes, is there an upgraded hinge available that allows the door to open all the way?

I agree with ya....I seldom anchor but when I do the door s in the way....more so for putting it up then pulling out....my old bayliner had the anchor locker under the bow seat and it was much easier to get at....and keep organized.

????
Mine opens to 180 deg. Not sure why an '06 and an '08 would be different. I use it nearly every outing.

+1 That door is a total pain to open to drop the anchor I really thought someone was sipping on some of grandpa's cough medicine when they designed that hatch!

???
I'm sorry to hear this. I keep my anchor, 5' of chain and about 50' of rope attached. I also have about 25' of rope on one of those dog ties that I screw into the ground when I beach. My anchor locker is easy to open/close, opens completely, and has ample storage for my needs, plus keeps my bow ladder securely stored. Is there a difference in design between mine and others?

Some of the final fitting out on FW boats isn't so wonderful; if there's 2 hinges on a hatch, sometimes the alignment of the hinge pins isn't right and after a certain degree of opening there's some binding. (one stern locker on my 2004 245 Sundowner would open 180 deg; restraining cable released, the other would barely open 90 deg without some horrible creaking sounds ). Replacing the original screws into the fibreglass (a nasty cheap way of assembling composites !) with nuts and bolts in clearance holes sorted that out.

On my 21 & 23' boats, I added a anchor roller. It was a lot easier to use and the roller kept the line, when anchored, centered with the boat.
Remember, with the roller, you are not taking the anchor in & out of the locker.

Just a thought??

Mine also opens 180 degrees so I'm confused as well. Seems like maybe someone installed he wrong hinges during assembly somewhere along the line. Maybe you can replace the hinges?

Good luck mounting a bow roller on a 210H with anchor locker/door right where the roller would go. Maybe you could have suggested a set up like this, just a thought.....

If you think that would work?? I like the bow roller better myself.

After all, it was just a suggestion. I am sure that part of the locker door area could be used to mount a roller. The door would be smaller, but the anchor will be on the roller anyways. Again, just a suggestion.

I must say, it was great when I added it. No more pulling the anchor in & out of the locker. BUT every boat is different and we all can not be as smart as Mr. Morgan in knowing every boat out there as he.

Oh well ... nothing is perfect....these boats were made by man....not GOD:) the storage room is good...just the lids to the storage compartments could be a little better thought out. kinda like the bow cushion lids that don't open all the way. The big trade of is the seat back storage compartments which I use use use.
