Post subject: | Prop ding |
Hi everyone In the fall while winterizing my 298 my brother dropped one of my stainless props on the concrete. Well it's time to put them back on and I'm not sure if I should wait and get them checked out. The ding is hardly even noticeable. I could post a picture but even on that you wouldn't be able to tell. Is it nesasary to get it looked at or do you think I'm ok to put them all on? This is with twins and dual props. |

If the "dinged" prop is even slightly out of balance, and a vibration develops, you may have some very expensive repairs on your hands down the road. You could put it in the water and hope it runs smooth, and if not, pull the boat and have the props reworked, scanned and balanced. Or for piece of mind, get it done before the season starts. It's hard to say for sure without seeing the prop. |
