I can honestly say we did not have the intention of moving up. We love our 298 and had planned to have it for quite a while. After speaking with my boat guy, I simply casually mentioned that if he came across something that was super nice, slightly larger, and priced right, we would consider a move. I told him we had no worry and no hurry, just to keep me in mind. Of course he was finishing a trade in deal up, on the perfect boat..... 2004 Sea Ray 320 Sundancer. Twin, closed cooled 496's, 232 hours on the engines, 187 on the genny. You can eat off the engine room floor. It's nearly a flawless boat. Sea trial went great, the numbers are agreed on. The only thing left to finish is getting some acceptable financing terms and for him to service it up. If all goes well, it will be in my slip in a week or so....wish us luck! |

Hope your deal works out smoothly and quick for you. 496's in that boat, that engine package should really make your 320 get up and move out real fast. Is this SeaRay 320 sterndrives or inboards? Good luck, Mike. |

From 20' bow rider to 33" foot cabin cruiser in a little over 2 years. Very impressive! I have always been impressed with the layout and build quality of Sea Rays. I'm sure you're going to love it. Congrats and don't be a stranger! |

eh, the 320 engine room is too cramped, but not as bad as the 340. That and the cockpit layout just doesn't do it for me (nor the wife). They are generally well-constructed, better than a lot of other production boats out there, so you're pretty safe there. Sort of odd to see a boat that old with that few hours on it, especially the genset down in your climate. But that's enough for it not to have been a dock queen. To me, older boats with very low hours are something to be worried about. When they don't get used the owners don't hear how the boat runs, at least not often enough to know what's going on. This often leads to nasty surprises for expensive repairs that could've been caught earlier and cheaper. |
