Went a little crazy

Hey all. I have been boatless for 10 months. I cured it good yesterday and today. Now I finally have something to work on and make better than new again. I searched tons of hours for a 261 Liberator to stay in the Four Winns family. But I could not find one that needed my help. So, I seen a little 1988 Cobia 18' open bow yesterday and bought it for our kid and his family. It needs a little buffing, a few seats in the back with the engine cover.
Then today, after a 2 month waiting game with a boat I landed (at my price), a 1993 Baja 38 Special with twin 502 Mag's.
I will post up pics in the next day or so and will keep doing so on the progress as we go along if you guys will still have me.

PS, I also bought a 1200 Yamaha Wave Venture and it should be a quick turn around to keep for the kids to play on. Well maybe me too.

38 baja, nice! Is it very pink and 1990s? They were VERY modern for their age in terms of boat styling aside from the colors. With new upholstery in a nice modern color scheme they look insanely baller.

No Pink. No no.
It has a very stylish double blue's sweep strips on it. Looks very up to date. I have to dump the TV and VCR for 3D Samsung and Blue Ray though.

Pretty much any television will look 3D once you hit the gas in that thing! Very nice. Shall we call you Crockett or Tubbs?

It runs, drives, etc. But, it need lots of work all over. Some of the more interesting one's are,
I have to custom mold a anchor hatch with glass and gel coat as it is missing and no replacements are available.
The D-shaped hatches are the same thing, I will have to make a wood mold and heat the curve into them and then drill and mount them.
Not to mention all the outside vinyl and I will do the drives with new polished stainless skeggards along with the engines and detail them like I do to match the colors of the boat. New fridge, hot plate, microwave, radio, stereo system and I think I will call my old sponsor KICKER to find out what's up.

Then I will spend a few hundred hours buffing, lettering, re-striping, etc. I would like to be done by the 4th, but with just some of it and then finish it off in August.

Intimidating looking boat for sure....and I thought I had engine access issues:-) when the boat is too long to get into one photo that says something......closed cooling on twins that's nice....is that the norm for those big blocks?

Good luck with it!! One thing I noticed, both engines have a closed cooling system.
