No this is not a capital one commercial... For all us new boaters/newbies. What should we carry in our toolbox? What are the must haves, and what have some experienced boaters used to get out of trouble spots??? |

On the boat I have duct tape, some cable ties, a couple half sized screwdrivers, a multi tool, and a wrench. Most important tool IMO is a phone and a VHF radio. I have a bunch of stuff I keep in a big plastic box in the back of my tow vehicle. This includes some Wd40, few more tools, hammer, extra bearing sets, rags, bearing grease and mini gun, gear lube, oil, rags, trailer light bulbs, fuses and circuit tester, rope, couple pieces of scrap wood, snips, wire stripper, extra adapter for wiring harness, extra keys, and a few other things thrown in. A good jack is a must also. |

I just keep a 5 gallon jerry can full of that ethanol crap that ric raves about on board. That'll fix anything ![]() One of those $69 general tool kits when they're on sale from Crappy Tire will do. Oh,,,,do you guys in NB call it Crappy Tire? Tie straps, duct tape, etc. and as stated above are all good. Remember though, your VHF is your best buddy in the event of problems. No radio,,,,*16 on your cell phone and you are connected to coast guard. John ![]() |

Please a sharp knife just in case you have to cut a fricken rope in your prop it will be a godsend! I have that silly puddy also it's called epoxy putty stick and it will seal a hole in your hull in a second underwater it will be able get back to land with a water bleeder in your hull! Don't forget to take your underwater mask and snorkel because your going to sink without them if you have to seal a bleeder at night and don't forget the emergency underwater flashlight also! |

Scott, check the Crappy Tire flyers and periodically their Nautilus booster pack is on for 100 bux off. It's 900 cranking amps and deep cycle ability. Comes with nav lights, built in 260 psi compressor,2 AC outlets, you name it. It even has marine battery terminals so you can run it as the boat battery if needed. I have one and love it. John I just saw that in the flyer...My wife asked me if we need one.... Question.... if your out floating around and listening to music do you disconnect your battery and hook it to the Booster pack? or just use it in-case you drain the one in the boat??? |
