The admiral and I have tomorrow off so we are starting early.

First off I would like to honor all our fallen heros, and thank all the vets and active military personel! Where would we be without each and every one of them!! Thank You!

This memorial weekend is looking fantastic weather wise for Michigan. We are planning a boat trip across the bay about 60 miles. The wind will be our biggest concern, but it should be a great boating weekend here!

Calm waters and safe boating to everyone. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend on the water!

I will be trailering my new(to me) 248 Vista across Michigan. Lake St Clair to Lake Charlevoix, approx 270 miles. Should be fun.
Hopefully I will be in the water on Sunday for the maiden voyage.

The forecast is rain. I'm okay with that though, we need it badly. My boat has been resting on it's trailer for a month+ now because the water is too low to keep it safely docked.

let me know about Charlevoix. Headed to Torch this summer, and don't mind pulling to a few other of the lakes and areas around there. Ours is going to take a bath around 2 today up in St. Joe. Beer is hurt my hand cold already. Sunday going to Tube / Wakeboard for the first time on Magician Lake

I should be in this weekend too if the wx holds up!! Raining now (all week), but forecast is for sunny/83 here in SW CT.
Boat's all ready to go, minus a good wax job....pick up the boat from my mechanic this am after 2+ weeks. Heard a slight tap noise under the port side valve cover when I fired her up last month....valve lash? Yep...they fixed it and it all checks out.
Did the impellor and tstat myself already......fill the head w/ chemical, fill the water tank w/ water, fill the ice chest w/beer and I'm all set!
Should have my slip by next year--town marina-- long, long waiting list to get in there. Put my name on the list 10 years ago this month!!! I am now #36 in line, so it looks like i'll be in by next year. Nice town-owned marina too.....literally only 3 min. and you're in Long Island Sound, but well protected. Only downer is gas at the dock is over $5 gallon!!!!! Stinkin' town!!
How do I put a picture onto this thing???!!!!!

We have a HUGE party planned for Sunday. Party Cove on Lake Lewisville is always a hot spot and we will be deep in the mix. I started the day by making about 100 Jello shots BEFORE I left for work. There will easily be 300 boats in Party Cove tomorrow...I will be there by 10:30am.

Thank you to all who have sacrificed for me, my family, and my friends to enjoy the freedoms we have and have afforded us the ability to enjoy our lives in the USA!

I spent the day cuddling watching movies with the GF to make her happy (she's not much into boating and drinking in the sun for 12hrs so she gets a day out of 3) but Mr. Weather man isn't giving good news for Sunday/Monday. They get so horny over tropical systems and spell doom. The last one we had rained for 30 minutes and it was a beautiful day, everyone was so pissed cause all the news and weather gave such huge warnings.. for nothing. They had the typical weather man on the beach acting like he's getting blown over and some old lady is walking her dog in the background not even her hair blowing.

I spent my Saturday and all this past week as the new owner of a Marina/Resort in Northern Michigan.

Our boat ramp was reeally busy today. We had trucks/trailers parked all over.

Launched some big boats and had our first guests in a cabin earlier in the week. Spent a good portion of yesterday and today in the engine room of a 45' Sea Ray. Also spent a good portion of time in the forward starboard bilge of a 28' Glacier Bay.

I have yet to have one of my own boats near the water let alone in the water. Its looking like it will be a few more weeks before we are out there.

I've been working along side my Active Duty Airforce BIL.

Make it a safe couple of days. I heard there was a drowning on my "home" lake today.

Charlevoix is great, but so is the sand bar on Torch! If you head to Charlevoix I like the launch at Ironton. Some things to do: Stop at John Cross Fisheries on Round lake, you can pull up by boat and pick up fresh fish for your grill, smoked fish, smoked fish dip(my favorite), or try the fish sausage. Then head to Oyster Bay to anchor for lunch and swimming(there are a couple of shipwrecks on the north end and you can snorkel around). Also The Landing in Ironton has docks to tie up and get something to eat right next to your boat. Young state park has a great beach as well that you can anchor off of.

We were in yesterday afternoon. Heading to the boat I remembered that Grand Haven was having Rib Fest. I guess I can make an exception for red colored food in the boat for ribs. Double parked and ran over to see Anthony at Kicked Up, handed him a $50 and said load us to for the boat. Needless to say, we had more than enough and enjoyed a cruise up to Muskegon and than back down to the tip of Spring lake. My 3 year old did great for his first trip. Only meltdown was at the fuel pump when he finally had enough of the life jacket.

$4.65 at the pump.......Nice little $260 drop at the end of the night.

Oh man, I might have to go rescue some friends later (at least the passengers). I have some genius friends that took their boat out today from Lake Monroe and boating to Silver Glen Springs. It's roughly 4hrs each way and they didn't leave until 11. Well, right off our coast is a tropical storm. The squall lines will be hitting Silver Glen by the time they arrive. Isolated storms are already in the area.

The little star thingie is silver glen springs. They'll be there around 3pm, when the storm hits.

It is always held on Memorial Day weekend so it is a good opportunity to remind the kids that we are honoring those who have paid the ultimate price to ensure our freedom.
