We are young at heart, but grew up in the 50's & 60's, so we do the standard 50-60 rock-n-roll. Of course The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, Righteous Brothers, Everly Brothers, some folk sounds like Peter, Paul & Mary, etc. I doubt that this will be much help to the younger generation, but my 50-60's Rock-n-Roll will last me forever! ROCK ON! 8)

This year? Pandora/iphone friendly marine radio. I lets the interwebs do my mixing and I can control it with the remotes. I was doing the USB thumb drive thing but that you actually have to like.. download music onto. Also a bit of iheart radio to listen to other stations around the USA that I've learned about in my travels.

Hot girls in the boat? Top 40
I've had a few drinks and I don't give a __ anymore? 80's hair metal

Oh I figured out the Kenwood KMR350U has built in water sensing technology that I now know about by finally reading the manual. I hosed the boat down and sprayed the radio full blast. It went into "PROTECT" mode on the faceplate LCD and once it dried out it came back alive. SWEET! Eat that Sony.

Do you like good blues and classic rock??

Try the sound track to the movie Burlesque.

Here are some other groups, Blues Brothers, Joe Cocker, Robert Cray, Coco Montoya, Laura Nyro, Luck Peterson, Roomful of Blues, Willaim Clark, Bobby Womack, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bobby Bland. There are so many more! Nyro will suprize you, she wrote "Stone Soul Picnic" and many more!

That's the way! I'll be posting my playlist in a few days. I like to find music that my kids and wife haven't heard yet and hopefully by the end of our summer they'll be hooked on new stuff. At the same time, I like to find nautical and summer themes.

Try a singer song writer named Jim Morris

http://jim-morrismusic.com/

He is a true trop-rocker in the way that Buffet wished he was. I have been following him for years. He is out of Punta Gorda Florida and plays often at the Navigator bar and Grill in Lake Suzie Fl, net to Punta Gorda. Give him a listen; I would suggest the albumns "Water Lines" or "Floating Opera" to start with.

you can't go wrong with jimmy buffet as mentioned. I'll definitely have some Kid Rock on there as well. The All Summer Long CD was made for N Michigan  Heck, maybe I'll even catch him singing at the sandbar again.

Wow, a lot of old music. My two kids are into a lot of cool music and I'm a hack musician so I'm favoring a more modern mix. Check out some of the stuff below if you're into new stuff (although in todays era, '90's music is considered new)

Matt Nathanson - Detroit Waves
Wilco - Sky Blue Sky
Wilco - I Might
Free Swim - Oh, Dennis
Clutch - Electric Worry
ZZ Top - Chartreuse
Van Halen - As Is
Van Halen - Stay Frosty
Sloan - Underwhelmed
Kraak and Smaak - Bobby and Whitney, Squeeze me
Seether - Gasoline

...many more to come.
