Welp packing up to head to Kentucky Lake for the week. Anyone boat there? Any Suggestions? We have been going there for a few years, but you just never know what we may be missing. |

Been a few times to Kentucky lake and Barkley. Stayed at cottages at KY Dam Marina State Park. These are some of the best state park accommodations anywhere. Go for the higher end ones-all new and clean and nice. You can also access both lakes easily from there. I remember going past the prison. Kind of cool. Also depressing to see that the inmates are right on a beautiful lake and not only can't get out on the water but can't even see it because there seem to be no windows on the lake side of the building. Don't like the barge traffic or the channels you must always be mindful of. Feels more like a big shallow river than a lake to me. There is a cove that used to be a party cove but I understand it is closed off now |
