| Post subject: | Ducks |
Anyone have any good ideas for keeping ducks off the dock? I have see a couple websites that sell tape and some other things just wondering if anyone had there owe set up that might work better? |

I dunno, Mike's idea seems more of a way to evenly distribute said ducks all over the dock. Of course, if the reason you want to keep the ducks off the dock is the one I think it is... Mike's idea has some merit. |

We also have alot of ducks at my marina. Try not to feed them and they should move on to an area where people will feed them. The reality is that ducks live where we keep our boats, in the water. |

I'd agree with that. If people are feeding them, they aren't going to go anywhere. Heck, around here you don't even have to feed them - they eat the docks. Of course the above post of the Remington 870 Tactical was for fun only. It's for human pests, not our feathered friends. |

Oh the thought has crossed my mind! The problem is they come up and eat under the neighbor’s bird feeder then waddle back and hang out on my dock/beach. Now the geese are coming too, lucky for me I live next to the only house that feeds them all so they can hang out all day. The kids are getting good at running out and scaring them off. I guess they will have to do for now. |

Geese make a huge mess! It might be time to chat with your neighbor or better yet run a few strips of electric fence between your proerty and theres about 6 inches off the ground......easy to install and remove when not needed. AFFFFFFFFF-ZAP! Also maybe one of those airsoft pellet guns might be alittle non leathal fun.... |

I believe that Coleman makes a portable sonic device that can be set to a frequency that birds don't like. As I recall it can run on bateries, and is motion activated. Or, perhaps discuss relocating the bird feeder with your neighbor. I'm sure you can point out the problem, and your desire to remedy it without having to resort to the installation of an unsightly fence. All bluff, of course.
