The dealer I'm trying to buy that 205 from is a nightmare. First they told me 17,500. Now it's 19,900. They're going all over the place and it's just under consignment. The registration # is "FL 4336 MP". I need to find the owner and just deal directly with them.

Help?

I'm calling him tomorrow to get the details of the consignment and how he can get out of it.

Criminal offense for pd to run that registration for ya....don't put your bud in that switch. Get the trailer license and buy the reg info through publicdata.com

He already did....... several times.

Quote:
Condition wise it's 9.5/10. Only has 70 hours on it stored inside. Dealer backs the boat 100% and will repair anything that an inspection found wrong. Space wise? The cockpit is perfect for what I want. Inside? Tight, but I'm 6'1 and I can fully lay stiff flat and not hit, but who sleeps like that?? Can easy fit me and 3 friends inside sitting down out of the weather. Plenty of room to install A/C out of the way.

Has the aft fill in cushion, table, woodgrain, transom remote, carpet, dual batteries with switch, engine flush out, fire extinguishing system, non pump out head, remote oil filter, SS prop, all the canvas, factory FW galvanized trailer. 5.0gxi and SX.

The seller is very motivated they've been trying to sell it for a few months the place said, would take 17k cash

2004 5.0gxi, sx, 70 hours, no flaws that I saw in person. Really clean it must have been stored indoors. Not missing anything, all canvas, fill in seats, etc.

Dealer gave me the run down, they've had it for along time the owner is trying to sell it to get a center console from them. Retired gentleman. It's at a shop 2mi from the beach and when you live beachside owning a cuddy cabin is 100% useless. Dealer wants 17,500 with no less then a few hundred in dealer prep fees and others on top of that. If I do trade in, they will give me $5000 for my boat BUT the boat is 19,000 with all their fees. It's under consignment, unsure of the contract status. I can tell it's been there for months, the batteries were near dead. I got the owner info so I'm going to see what we can do private party. If the dealer wanted to do 17,500 consignment that means I can most likely get it cash from that guy for around the 15,000 mark because that's all the marina is going to give him.

Very unlikely. Contracts are sighned for a reason, and that reason is not so a buyer can try an muscle in on it. Ocassionally, there are contracts that state the seller can opt out if he finds his own buyer, but those are rare indeed, and often will cost the seller 10% of the asking price of the contract, payable to the dealer.

Plus the seller did not find his own buyer, the potential buyer is one that the dealership found.

When I sold my cruiser it was done through brokering like this. But I did have written into my contract that there were a few people that had looked at it before I signed the brokerage contract. If one of those people came back and bought it from me, I was free and clear of the broker agreement. But I had to list them by name and info. Anyone else was the dealers contact.
