Looks like he did that on purpose....she braces and turns backward long before the incident. He pulls back on throttle and turns into wave.

i have done that once before on accident....not near that severe, but pulled back on throttle approaching wave i didnt see - boat moving forward and bow dips into wave like a shovel.

Definitely looks intentional....he even makes motions preparing for what he seems to know is coming.

So.....that is caused by decelerating into a wake thus causing the nose to dip at the wrong time..right?

My friend had a jet drive boat that would do this. You get up to a certain speed and then throw it in reverse. Even better if you can time it into a wave. Was fun to soak people in the bow that weren't expecting it.

It looks like thats what he did as it is reversing when it comes up out of the water afterward. That can't be good for the transmission on a inboard powered boat.

Judging by his reaction, it's hard to believe that it is his boat. That much water is going to cause issues.

It's a jet drive and he did it on purpose. Notice as a poster above stated it was going backwards when it came up. Also near the end, he was moving the shift lever without distinct detents for forward, nuetral and reverse. The throttle is a foot pedal.

Many moons AND boats ago, I had a jet and pulled that stunt myself a couple of times. Trust me though, it got "old" real quick after the countless hours of drying out and correcting the water damage to the electrics. It WAS a bloody hoot though 8)

I would never do anything like that to my boat on purpose! Looks like it would get expensive really quickly.
