I have a couple of questions+

1) Where does your oil touch the dipstick ( bottom or middle or top of the smooth area) to verify it's full.
2) Do you verify the outdrive being full with dipstick sitting on top of the hole, unscrewed, or screwed in

Thanks for any details you all can provide

ok thanks I didn't remember where it was was I refilled and put a little more than half. Going to take the props off again, figured I mess around with the gear oil. Thanks again.

If you really feel you need a little more -- just pour it in from the top -- that is obviously where any more is going to end up anyway.
Why bother to pull the props just to add a little -- Dale

I pulled the props to put the VP prop grease on them I used aftermarket the last time, they came off with no problem in less than 20 minutes to do the whole job which has me thinking if someone wanted those props they wouldn't be too hard to steal. I checked the gear oil and it was a little higher than the middle so I figure it is fine. Thanks again everyone.
