Looking for a top rail and port side glass for a 1990 Sundowner 205. It is a friends boat and I slipped putting the anchor out and shattered the glass and slightly bent the aluminum top rail. Every dealer I have contacted does not have it nor can find one themselves. The windshield appears to have been made by Water Bonnet. I contacted them and I think they were out of business. I also contated Taylor Made who does not have anything to replace it.

I am sure I am not the first person to be looking for this. I am unsure if there is a slight curve to the glass or not. I called some auto glass shops who said they do not deal in marine glass.

I am new to this forum and am really hoping to find what i need here from all you experts!!

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!!

You will either have to find a boat in a salvage yard, buy the boat and take the windshield, or by miracle, just get the piece you need.

Or you can call these guys, they may be able to make you one.

It does not appear to have much of a curve to it, I have seen a local glass shop make a replacement for a
windshield similar to this a few years ago.

About 6 years ago I was able to get the center and port side windshield glass from Water Bonnet for my '88 H-200. The 205 Sundowner has the same hull from 88-92 but of course the top cap is different and the windshield is different as well. The front windshield is 2 pieces vs the 3 for the bowrider so there is more of a curve to it than on my boat. Mine used what they call 'bent glass' it is tempered glass that can be curved when you install it. I'd see if a custom glass shop can cut a piece of glass that can be bent like that. If not look around, but I don't think it's going to be easy to find a piece of glass for a boat that age. If I had this problem, I'd take dimensions and see if a shop could rebuild the front of the frame, so that the windshield could be made in 3 pieces, and that flat glass could be used. That would make it much easier to get replacement pieces. The OE windshield frames on those boats are simple and easy to take apart. I bet someone could fab up a flat panel replacement.
