What is the all in weight of that boat? My old '88 H-200 has the 4.3 with 4bbl carb and the all in weight is about 3000 lbs. The most I could get is probably 42 if that, I'm sure that age and coats of bottom paint slow it down. In the FW specs page for the older 200s with the 4.3 thats what they listed, and that would be under ideal conditions, not with an old bottom painted boat.
If the prop is letting it reach max rpm and it's still slow, it could be too much boat for the motor.
Stingray is famous for making the fastest boats of their size range, but not that particular model. It's a mini deck boat designed for space and comfort in a tiny package. Not a speed boat design like their other 98%. The Stingray 195 cuddy I was looking at is virtually the same size/length/weight. With the same engine (4.3 gxi) it does 59mph. With 1000lb weight it still breaks 52mph. 10mph faster fully loaded due to it's hull design. It's almost 10mph faster then all other boats in it's class with v8's.. but don't ride it in rough waters!!!!
