| Post subject: | Garmin Vs Standard Horizon |
Looking at upgrading my GPS on our 328. We currently have an older outdated garmin but here is what I have it narrowed down to. Just wondering if anyone has an experience on either of these units, or any input about what you need and what you don't. Garmin you can get the latest maps hacked for free all over the net. Considering they cost hundreds of dollars each that's a big selling point towards the G. |

Garmin creates a great product and I have heard their customer service exceeds that of their competitors. I have both auto and marine units and everyone I boat with has various Gamin models. I believe the 740 is on sale at West Marine as it is being discontinued and replaced with another model. I actually am debating upgrading my 546S to the 740 for a bigger screen as I now have more real estate to flush mount it on my helm. |

I also use it with the radar, overlaying the GPS & radar makes it so much easier! |

Well pulled the trigger on a Standard Horizin CPN700i, with the optional 4D cartography.
