Mounting a transom mount transducer for Lowrance fishfinder on our 2002 Finship 234. Any advice on the best location?

I mounted the transom mount transducer on my '02 FS214 starboard of the outdrive. Depending on how far to the side you mount it, I guess you might have to compensate for the depth offset.

Thanks for the info! The instructions say to do starboard side also because of the prop rotation, I am a little concerned because our boat has the counter-rotating dual prop.

I'm no expert, but I think the concern is that the transducer could create air bubbles which could affect the performance of the props. With it mounted to the side (either), I wouldn't expect this to be an issue. There are some videos out on youtube which may be of some help, but even those can contradict each other.
My $0.02 - mount it to starboard, line it up between the chines and have the bottom of the transducer below the boat so that it has clean water.
Don't forget to use sealant in the screw holes!

Erik
