I am looking for a fish/depth finder for a 1991 Freedom 190. Any suggestions on brand/model? Also, how difficult is it to install yourself? Thanks. |

I have a 1992 180 Freedom and just bought (yesterday) the Hummingbird 170. I wanted something small that wouldn't take up a lot of room. I also bought the RAM mount to mount it with. |

I use a Garmin 250C mounted on my dash and a transom-mounted transducer. Piece of cake to install. You need to determine where you will mount the display and find something which will fit. |

Post pics of your installs. I just cannot figure out which unit to go with and have a nice clean install. I am not a fan of the windshield mounts nor do I want it to look tacked on, but there is not that much space in the helm. |

Do you have the cup holder next to the dash? That's where I mounted my Hummingbird. Drilled hole in to plastic holder, ran wires thru, used 2 plastic electric tape container bottoms stacked & then formed piece of ash to fit snug on top of those, paintes white to match mounted the display unit. Looks like factory , out of the way from any one but the drivers R/H so it doesn't get bumped, knocked or anything else. |

No cup holder to the right of the gauges. My cup holder is down below the throttle. I have seen that upper cupholder and it does make for the perfect spot. |

In the meantime, why don't you post a picture of your dash area for us to get an idea what you are working with? |

Oh you have way more space up there than on mine. I do not have a good picture of the helm from further away, but you can kind of see the windshield slope and how close it comes up on the top of the dash and its is even closer on the starboard side. ![]() Thanks for the pictures. I forget every time I take the boat out to snap one so I can try and find a spot. |
