I added a second station to the VHF radio on our 2005 348 Vista. If you're looking for a deal on one I just noticed an eBay auction for one:

I installed ours in place of the air conditioning thermostat. I pulled the thermostat and moved it to the 'same' location at the forward end of the cabinet behind the sofa. There's "just enough" slack in the cable to do reach. I then cut the hole for the amplified speaker and installed the handset alongside of it.
WORKS GREAT! Now the admiral can operate the radio from below in the event the weather turns bad. The speaker is actually LOUD enough to be heard up at the helm when underway with the door closed!
