One of my Christmas gift from Admiral was a new Garmin GPSMAP 546 Chartplotter replacing my old 487. 478 is ok but we wanted a full on Chartplotter for our 260
It has a 5” Screen with 480 x 640 pixels. This unit will work with their latest G2Vision map (3D), which is ultimate package for the sport boats. One of the issue with Horizon is we have very limited space to put GPS unit and size has to be small. I have been told from many people that Garmin 400 series will fit on the dash but 500 series is too big to fit. I was prepared to build a raised platform. However, I discovered the 500 Series would fit perfectly on the left corner of space between dash and windshields. Although it is a “Honeymoon fit” :D

Looks nice sitting there. Did you have to upgrade your card or did it have the 3D data already on it? Is that location near where you had your old unit? You're going to really need that chartplotter this year if the waters don't come up soon. The lake is still 24-30" below normal springtime levels.
