Sx-a drive. trim worked perfect on sea trial. Now it only moves slightly. If you hold the button it will move 1mm, stop for a second, move, stop. I replaced both relays and fuse. No difference. Any ideas? |

Maybe the button itself? Is it the "rocker" type? Maybe take it apart and clean the contacts? |

It has two, one on the transom. They seem to be connected as unplugging the rear makes the front not work. |

How is the tilt n trim fluid level? I know that the trim pumps had some issues on the newer style Volvo drives, but it may have been corrected by that model year. I bet Brian Borchik knows.... |

i didn't check the fluid yet, i just got home it's hotttt.. I would think low fluid the drive would sag down... but it holds position you can stand on it. Yeah I bet he knows, I know zero about this style drive. |

When you say it goes up 1mm then stops, does the drive just quit moving up or does the trim motor its self stop spinning? |

Trim motor runs a second, stops for a few, then runs again while button pushed. |

Does this happen on the helm switch AND transom switch? Or just one of them? |

Check the obvious, corrosion on wire, make sure all plugs are tight. The is a round y-harness to the left of the distributor with a green blue and red wire. Make sure the plug is clean and tight, it controls your helm and transom switches. If these check ok I would next look at the soleniods on the trim pump. The are 2, one for up and one for down. If you are only having a problem with trim up, switch the soleniods around and see if the problem is now with trim down. Let me know what you find...... |

Nevermind, don't care I'll have the dealer fix it. Just spoke with Stingray my boat DOES have the extended volvo penta warranty (dealer said it didn't). I just have to sign up on their mystingray.com and do the transfer to my name. |

Ah crap, it's going to take like a month or 2 to get transferred but the whole trim system is covered. Okay game on. How do I fix this thing in the mean time? |
