Hi, I have a 2012 H180le with a Merc 3.0 stern drive. I am looking at replacing the speedometer with a Smart Gauge speedometer and I have a couple of questions.

I have looked on line at the Faria and Merc gauges. Are they basically the same as far as functions go or are there major differences in the two? Do they both use the same terminal plug on the engine for the wiring? Will I get a digital read out for engine RPM on a speedometer gauge or do I need a separate tachometer?

I have no experience with the Faria gauges but installed Merc SmartCraft gauges when the boat was new.

Here is a link to SC documentation.

Installation was fairly straight forward, removed the SC to analog converter and then started connecting gauges.

The docs will show you exactly what you will get for info.
