Cables "appear" okay. I don't see any cracks or age to them. They are only 2008 with less than 150 hours. So unless they were hitting something hot or chaffing I am going to assume they are okay. I sanded the connections they were pretty corroded. The solenoid actually had some good salt corrosion on it. I didn't have to hand in the old starter so I am going to take it apart when I get some time. Just out of curiosity. I let you know how it goes after installation. |

I put the new starter in and so far is working. Starts right up without clicking or any hesitation. I tried turning the engine over a few times after I installed it and yesterday started right up after it sat for 2 days. Also, installed 2 fresh new batteries since I have no idea of the age of the current ones. I can use the old ones for something else. Not going to waste them. Hopefully that was it. Time to move on to other little fixes.... |
