My trim guage needle started bouncing over the weekend and is pretty much useless now. It will show when its all the way down but as soon as I touch the up button it is all over the place.
I've read that the VP senders don't last that long. Is the same true for the Mercs?

Anyone else have this happen? If so what was the fix?

i had one doing that and even bought a sensor. I pulled the dash first and there was a loose connection on the guage itself. once tightened it has worked perfect.

Hopefully you will luck out like that. The B3 sensors have a long wire with plug inside. Not sure but the drive may have to come off to change it. I heard of guys cutting a splicing the wires on the outside and heatshrinking

Thanks. Maybe that is it. I was just messing with the wiring the other day finishing my GPS-VHF NMEA connection, maybe I knocked something loose. :?
