Hi,
Just want to know if someone has successfully replaced their original side mount control with the following.
http://www.iboats.com/Teleflex-Side-Mount-Controls/dm/cart_id.656415613--session_id.570857913--view_id.49233

I have a 99 Horizon 220
Thanks!

I was going to do that this spring (bought the control and all nice one) but after I adjusted the transom shift cable it shifted so well I decided to wait till something goes wrong within my OE OMC control. Also removing the side panel in my boat is a big project. Kept the control cecsuse you can't get parts for the OMC ones, but they were very good for it to last this long.

That really looks great! How hard was it to remove the side panel to install it?
I was going to do this as I said but then after I adjusted the shift cable it was much better. But sooner or later something will happen with the old control and I will have to change it since the internal parts like trim switches are no longer available.
On my boat the big coaming side panel is held on by threaded studs that go through the glass and nuts on the inside of the glass. It looked to me like I'd have to cut them off since the studs were just spinning when I tried to remove the nuts.

when I take my 2-way radio box out I have a large opening to access all the cables and wiring so no panels had to be removed.
