| Post subject: | Windlass not working |
Today my windlass started acting up. All of a sudden it's not working correctly. It will let the chain and rope down no problem but when bringing the rope and chain up the motor is turning (I can see it spinning) but with a small amount of tension it just spins and does not continue to bring up the anchor? Any idea what's going on? It's a freedom 500 windlass on a 2007 278 vista? |

Have the same windlass, and had the same issue. The pressure arm inside the windlass broke. I replaced, and worked perfect. Also, how old is your rode, and have your tightened the windlass with the wrench? http://www.defender.com/product3.jsp?pa ... &id=797062 |
