Post subject:  Replacement Instrument Gauges for 1996 Horizon

I have a 19' 1996 Four Winns Horizon that has the instrument cluster like a car. I would like to redo the dash with individual gauges instead of the instrument cluster. Could someone suggest what gauges that would work in place of the cluster and where to find them?
Thanks,
Tracy

Faria Chesapeake, whole set for about $150-180. Amazon, EBay, Google.

All the wires in the back come from standard sensors that will work with standard gauges, you'll just have to keep track and label them all and hook them up to the new gauges. You'll also have to build some kind of panel to hold the gauges. Not a big deal, people do it here all the time I'm sure someone will post up their conversion.

Faria makes a nice gauge kit. I used it. Like it.

There is a company that makes a complete replacement kit, including the molded panel, and the same common connector that our VDO panels had:

Around $600 if ordered direct from A & A Marine:

Thanks everyone for the info. I have been working on this boat off and on for about a year now and the dash is the last thing on my list. Again, Thanks.

I just went this route, called Dave @ A&A Marine and after trading a few e-mails on the particulars of my boat my new cluster is on order. I can't wait for it to come in, it's supposedly a plug and play replacement for the crappy VDO setup.

To anybody looking for a solution to the Four Winns mid to late 90s Instrument Cluster failures. This original post was from approximately 10 years ago and I thought I'd be running into an obsolete solution that wouldn't be around anymore. I'm having Instrument panel issues on a 1996 Four Winns Horizon 190. For being a 26 year old boat, it is in excellent condition except for the gauges not working, so it is worth spending the extra money to monitor my boats vital signs.
I thought I'd take a chance at contacting Dave at A&A Marine in Michigan (231) 723- 8308. Surprisingly 10 years later, they are still in business with Dave at the helm. I cannot say enough good things about Dave's assistance. He shipped out 3 potential gauge panels in order for me to see which one fits the best and I can order the one that works with my application.
I'm ordering the complete 5 gauge cluster as shown in the images on this post. I can't wait until it arrives. When it does, I'll be posting my own photos. Stay tuned.

That is great news that A&A Marine is still doing this and is still good to work with!

Agreed it is gratifiying when you find businesses that can help you to get a project done that is not complex in theory but you need some special skill they have that you can't replicate. Believe it or not the 34 year old Medallion gauges in my old boat all still work! Including the speedo and trim gauge which are the ones that usually don't work.
I bought a new set of Faria gauges some years back and never installed them! One of these days but with the old boat I fix what's broke and leave the rest alone, for now...
