I recently bought a 2000 248 Vista. I would like to ask some guidance on the tank monitor system. I understand they can be very troublesome. The tank monitor for fresh and gray tanks work great. The black water system is an issue. I pulled the sending units and monitors and conducted a bench test, all worked great. When I plunged the components back into the harness the fresh and gray continued to work as required. the black water tank shows 3/4 to full alternating. I believe it is an issue of resistance in the wire or the connection is shorting out. Any thoughts?

None of my monitors work, and it would be great if they did.

Can you simply bypass the harness with a temporary wire to test your theory?

I replaced them with the newer style units from Fireboy on my 268 and had no more issues.

I was chasing those electrical gremlins also till I found moisture wicks up into the potted circuit board of the sensor and shorts it out. There is a pic of the damage in this link
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12577&hiliI ended up replacing mine with new, and they already lost their calibration....what junk that company makes
