Post subject:  Blue LEDs to Replace Arch & Courtesy Lights (what lumens?)

I found a lot of good info searching the site regarding LED bulb replacement for the arch and courtesy lights on my 2000 Vista but for those of you who have gone with blue LEDs for the cockpit, what lumens do I need to get because the bulbs range from 35lm all the way up to 260lm? I was going with the 194 LED bulb for the courtesy lights (see link below). I probably won't have much of a selection regarding lumens for the arch lights though. Thanks.

If you go too high, everyone aboard will look like a smurf, but if you go too low, you won't see anything.
I think going with blue is a good choice, but the best of both worlds is to have blue and white in the same socket. I seen a 298 with LED's and he could change the colour with a dial, don't know how he did it, but I want that.

I put mini-wedge blue LEDs in the courtesy lights and want to purchase these G4 LED dual color (white & blue) for the arch. No need to change the rocker switch either and only 100 lumens which is not too bright.

I must agree with the previous post...

I have been on numerous boats with colored interior lights in blue or red (radar arch/hardtop lights & cockpit lights) and I cannot say that I am a fan unless the white light option is "also" available.

I like to see what I am doing at night....old school I guess.

Best of luck with your installation.

I have a 2015 275V. The led's in the arch can be changed from red - white - blue by turning the rocker switch on and off repedidly. Don't really know how they work but the choice of colors is really cool. The lower courtesy and under swim platform lights are blue on another rocker switch.
